No, I’m not talking about the stabbing of 22 elementary school children in China that happened. No, this wasn’t a Islamic terrorist shooting up an American military base, influenced in his faith. This was much better, that is if you are a gun control advocate. This was not a time to mourn the death of children. This is not a time sympathize with the families. This is not a time to pay respects to the families of the victims by saying something other than our political views. Nope, this was the moment that gun control advocates get to have the spotlight on them. This was their moment in the sun. This was the moment that everybody in America wanted to hear their view on guns.Really, what facts do you really want to know about the school shooting? Crazed killer? Mental disorder? Too many movies? Doesn’t matter. The ages of the children? Doesn’t matter. How did he do it? Doesn’t matter. Nope, the only thing that really matters immediately after a school shooting is that gun control advocates get to go on television and lecture us about the need for more gun control. Those kids who died in Newport, CT won’t die in vain. No, their deaths are very useful to people such as Michael Moore, Michael Bloomberg, and the countless other people who used those people’s despair as an excuse to get in front of the camera.
In the coming days we’re going to hear more talk of gun control. News networks will be highlighting gun violence more so than ever. You’re going to hear words like Columbine, Virginia,
Benghazi, Fort Hood, and many other shootings. We’re going to hear terms like “How many more children must die before…” or any number of variations of that. New legislation will be introduced, perhaps as soon as the first legislative session since the rampage.
It was clear when President Obama took to the Sunday evening vigil, to interrupt the biggest game of the week, that he was there for one purpose and only one purpose; To hi-jack the vigil as a means to lay down the foundation of new gun control measures.
I’m sure Obama cared about the children, sure, I saw him wipe away his tear drop. I’m sure he wept when he found out guns from the Fast and Furious program were used to kill young people in Mexico. I’m sure he cries when Jewish children die in a bomb blast due to another radical Islamist. But as compassionate as he may have been, could it have been any less Presidential of him to go to the vigil in Newtown to speak, only to make it clear he’s going to push for more gun control measures?
Make no mistake about it, there will big push of gun control.
Just one problem… There’s a much more severe crisis looming.Maybe you have heard of it, it’s called the “Fiscal Cliff”. People’s jobs are on the line, people’s tax rates are assumed to be increasing, budget cuts must be made, and economically we are, at worst, on the verge of total collapse. At best, uncertainty.
If the President and the Democrats are shamelessly going to use the death of those children to push gun control legislation instead of focusing on the fiscal crisis, then it should be self-evident that President Obama and the Democrats simply don’t care about your financial future. Regardless of the economic class, whether rich or poor, middle class or outside class, if you live in Kentucky, Connecticut, or Kansas. It’s not going to matter if you live in Michigan, Maine, Missouri, or Massachusetts. It won’t matter if you live in Mississippi, Montana, New Mexico, or Mobile Alabama… (My God, Obama’s speeches are starting to rub off on me. I need to be careful before I begin to ramble on nothingness through entire speeches.)Let me be clear, we have a more pressing matter, one that can not continue to be postponed. We have given guns to Mexican Drug Lords, released prisoners from Guatanamo Bay, aided radical Muslims rise to power in Egypt, brought in Muslim fugitives, revamped our entire health care system that we continue to struggle with. Our taxes are about to be increased, more people are about to be laid off, gas still sits at over $3.00/gallon, and the Democrats now want us to give up our guns? Perhaps the President should be focusing on his “Hope and Change” so that it would be a lot more tolerable to get accustomed to.
Perhaps President Obama should get out of La La land and into a room with Boehner and not come out until an agreement is reached. If we don’t solve our fiscal crisis, we won’t have the money for a military, we won’t have the money for police, and they want to remove guns from the American citizens? Red Dawn, anybody?
