Bush the Socialist?

May 30, 2007

That’s it.

I’m done. No more Democrat bashing from this guy.

Yes, I’m a registered Republican and yes I’m conservative.
But I’m not going to throw stones from inside a glass house.

[ad#Google Adsense]

President Bush has asked congress for an addition 30 BILLION dollars to help with AIDS IN AFRICA!

His reasoning?

“To those whom much is given, much is expected.”

Wow. Using a biblical reference to promote taxpayer waste is pretty bold.

That’s the same line of reasoning that caused Republicans to bash “liberals” when Clinton was in office!

It’s flat out wealth redistribution, from a wealthy country to a poor country. In short, it’s WORLD SOCIALISM!

If my money is going to be pilfered and redistributed, I’d much rather it go to my fellow Americans, NOT AFRICANS, MEXICANS, CROATIONS, or whatever the hell!

I’m done with Bush- forever!
And if the new Democratic congress moves to impeach him, I’ll be right there with them on the front lines.

I’m not kidding.

UPDATE: OYSTER tells me that Bush’s quote is from the Bible. I actually didn’t know that the president was plagiarizing Christ’s very own words to further his own ends. This actually irritates me even more. Bush SHOULD have said that “As Jesus said… to those who have been given much, much is expected.” He sort of left out the fact that he was quoting the bible. I’m actually glad that he did- I sort of cringe at Dubya invoking God’s name.

The dollars aren't "worthless", they allow banks to be more liquid and write more debt... but, you're right, it can (and will) lead to inflation and/or an economic crisis.

Yeah, and continuing to print billions of worthless dollars would be just great for our economy and national security/debt, right?

And money's not a "scarce resource" at all. We can print more of it whenever we need to, which we've been doing at a breakneck pace during the Greenspan/Bernanke era.

"I actually didn’t know that the president was plagiarizing Christ’s very own words to further his own ends." President Bush has "plagiarized" in this way literally hundreds of times over the years. Almost every important speech he makes has a phrase or two that refers to a biblical verse. Funny that a "God-fearing" man like yourself hasn't picked up on that.

As one of the last people who sees money as a SCARE RESOURCE, I'd rather spend it on taking care of problems IN AMERICA! Not Aids Relief in Africa, not nation building in Iraq and Afghanistan!

“To those whom much is given, much is expected.” As you know, Chaddo, that's a biblical reference (Luke 12:48). I guess you'd think Jesus of Nazareth was a Marxist, too. Would you have supported his impeachment as well?

Neither do Republicans, apparently.

Liberals are quick to be upset at Military spending but they sure don't care about African AIDS spending.
