The people of Louisiana are turning on the radios and televisions to hear [see] the latest attacks on Bill Cassidy. The latest ads –one a television buy-in and the other a radio buy-in– paints Cassidy as a Obamacare supporter who wrote a Bill –while in the Louisiana State Senate– which was Obamacare-like.
Upon hearing [seeing] these ads, one would get the impression they were produced by Conservative groups, but in reality these ads were created by two Liberal PAC’s. The television buy-in produced by Senate Majority PAC, and the radio buy-in produced by Patriot Majority USA PAC. Both are heavy hitter Liberal PAC’s funded by Unions and other Liberal special interest groups.
The purpose of these ads is to link Cassidy to the unpopular Obamacare program. While Cassidy’s 2008 Louisiana Senate Bill –S.B.535– does deal with Healthcare. It was meant to create an exchange to aid people in the insurance market in the hopes of lowering cost (a basic summary.) The bill did not push for the forcing of people ,and or businesses, to buy insurance. Nor did it call for the mountains of regulations –which include taxpayer funded abortions– present in Obamacare.
The election cycle will feature Obamacare as a major wedge issue. While these two ads may paint Cassidy as an Obamacare supporter, they forgot two major facts. One, Cassidy did not vote for Obamacare as a member of the U.S. Congress. And Two, Mary Landrieu was the deciding “YEA” vote for Obamacare in the U.S. Senate.
