This article will cover some of the basic truths about oil, coal, and natural gas—3 major sources of energy within United States borders of which President Obama has never allowed the total exploration, even though our nation has more of them than does any other country in the world. The use of these fuels has little or no effect on the environment as a whole.
The Government Accounting Office (GAO), wrote, on May 2012:
Here the GAO told Congress, “The Green River Formation out west contains an ‘amount equal to the entire world’s proven oil reserves.'”
Why in the world is our nation, through the office of the President of the United States, not opening up these Federal lands? The first and foremost answer to this can be heard by President Obama each time he discusses the energy plans; it all comes down to one subject, with no other subjects considered—and that subject is President Obama’s green energy policy.
If we sat down with the formulas and did all the calculations, we would find that wind produces just ¼ of the energy, as does one natural gas plant. This means that 660 windmills are needed to replace just one natural gas generator. President Obama wishes to have all these useless windmills all over the place in order to employ many more people…or does he? In either case, 660 windmills compared to just one natural gas generator—just the difference in land usage alone would have a lot of meaning. It takes nearly a full acre for each windmill, so this would mean the loss of 660 acres of land, which could be used for other purposes such as nature parks. This 660 acres is with windmills alone.
One has to wonder what the land usage would be for solar panels. Since 2009, 5 Solar Companies have gone out of business because they could not keep working, even with government subsidies. Taxpayers lost billions of dollars to these companies after they laid out their plans and worked on developing “solar” energy. Yes, they may have some companies that have solar working for them, but, once again, when the load factor of the energy7 formula comes into play, solar is even further down then the windmills, and solar take up so much more room.
President Obama has disregarded all of the natural energy resourced our nation has on hand, allowing to fall into the cracks the very people he said he has helped. Obama has made the statement time and time again that our nation only has 2 percent of the world’s proven reserves—well that is a huge lie. The GAO director of natural resources and environment testified to Congress during the week of May 7, 2012, that “just one small part of the United States is capable of out producing the rest of the planet.” What? How can this be? Has President Obama been selling the people of the United States a very large lie? The answer is, very simple, yes! President Obama has been hiding the very true statement that, just in 3 states (Colorado, Utah, and Wyoming), nearly 1.7 trillion barrels of oil lie around 1,000 feet below the surface, waiting to be taken out.
Mittal stated to Congress that according to the U.S. Geological Survey, ‘estimates that the Green River Formation contains about 3 TRILLION barrels of oil, and about half of this may be recoverable, depending upon available technology and economic conditions.’
Again, what? How can President Obama even think about stating to the people of the United States that we do not have enough oil when, in fact, our nation has more oil than the entire world has at this very moment? How can President Obama even think he can get away with making such an absurd statement? It is very simple, to him, that oil does not count as proven reserves, since little drilling has been done to prove it to be true. President Obama has once again misled the very people he lays claim to be helping, thinking he can keep them from drilling there, as over 72% of the land belongs to the Federal Government. And since he can keep them from drilling, he can say that is not a reserve of oil.
If president Obama was truthful and really wanted to help the middle class people, he would allow drilling in this oil reserve. He would also tell the EPA to back off their restrictions and allow 50 more refineries to be built to handle all the oil that would be flowing within 6 months. But—and here is the problem—President Obama does not care about the people, nor does he care about the fact that the United States does not need any foreign oil, President Obama finds it much more powerful to force people to use small, problematic electric cars so that his friends can get rich off of their green energy projects at the expense of the tax-paying public.
With the oil consumption of our nation at about 20 million barrels of oil per day, the Green River Formation alone could supply the United States with enough oil for the next 200+ years. This does not include what lies off the East Coast, or what lies in Anwar, or what is yet to be found. It is very conceivable to say that the United States has enough oil to sustain itself for the next 300+ years. Why is President Obama hiding this most important fact of all?
That was just what the United States has in oil. If we check out the natural gas, we find that our nation has enough natural gas to run all the electricity of the entire nation for the next 600 years. This site has a very good article about the natural gas in the United States. Once again, the question pops up: why is it that our nation does not go after and use all this natural resource that is actually cleaner than all other sources of fuel? Our nation has more coal than all the world, yet President Obama has decided that coal is bad and green energy is good, no matter how much it may cost in jobs, money, finances, and even lives. We as a nation can change this attitude in November and once the drilling embargo is lifted, prices will fall, jobs will bloom, and our nation will become prosperous once again.
While reading the article below, remember that it is based upon the proven reserves and does not take into account just what actually lies in the ground waiting to be taken out. This data is very small because, in reality, the United States does have more natural gas than is shown here.
There is an abundance of natural gas in North America, but it is a non-renewable resource, the formation of which takes thousands and possibly millions of years. Therefore, understanding the availability of our supply of natural gas is important as we increase our use of this fossil fuel.
This section will provide a framework for understanding just how much natural gas there is in the ground available for our use, as well as links to the most recent statistics concerning the available supply of natural gas.
