POOR, POOR, JOHN!

May 22, 2007

“I’m sorry I abandoned Louisiana in its hour of greatest need. I wish I had stayed in Louisiana and helped Bobby Jindal make some sense out of a very bad situation. If I had stayed, Kate would probably have listened to me because I am a Democrat and we could have prevented the Democrats from looking like a bunch of self-serving, political dividers too incompetent to read the directions on the bottom of the boot to keep their feet dry.”
No, John Breaux did not say that, but it’s accurate.

What Breaux did expel was a bunch of whining that sounded more like a five-year old demanding that the other children get out of HIS sandbox in the public park. “I’ve played in this sandbox all my life. My granddaddy played in this sandbox. My CLOSE friend Edwin “Fast Eddie” Edwards played in this sandbox until he was wrongfully put in prison for maintaining the political status quo, like all my friends who play in this sandbox”

Â

Well, not exactly, but it’s accurate.

Â

No matter what his pitiful excuses are for abandoning Louisiana at such a needy time, what Breaux’s comments do say, is that Breaux was willing to bend/manipulate/ignore any law Louisiana had to offer in order to make the Governor’s race. The debate now is whether Breaux feared prosecution from Maryland for filing false official documents, or was it something more “grassroots”.

Â

Given Breaux’s close ties to known political criminals still in prison and their parasitic grip on State business, it is no wonder that laws covering elections would be open for interpretation. Given Louisiana’s standing in education, it is easy (for Democrats) to see how someone might not understand the meaning of “citizen”.

Â

HOWEVER, when it comes to the unfair taxation of hunting licenses, “Bubba” understands very well. Bubba understands very well that by being a resident/citizen of the State, you won’t be squeezed for as much money when you buy a hunting license. Bubba knows that because the Legislature and the Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries can’t get along with our neighboring states, Bubba has to pay higher taxes when he hunts with his cousins in Arkansas and Mississippi, as they do when they hunt with him in Louisiana. Yes, Bubba understands very well what it means to have to buy an “Out-of-State” hunting license, and John Breaux knew very well that he was about to prove that he is just like his buddy sitting in prison.

Â

The “sandbox” is full, Mr. Breaux and it is for “locals only”. Now run back to your Ivy League friends and cry on THEIR shoulders. I think the REAL citizens of Louisiana have heard quite enough.

So very true but the main reason he left was he saw he could not beat Bobby Jindal. With Bobby Jindal becoming our next Governor, all we need to do is get Democrat John Kennedy to run for a U.S. senate seat and we will be heading in the right direction.
