Selling Us Out For A Small Fortune

June 11, 2008

“Meanwhile, as Senator Landrieu continues to fight on behalf of the people of Louisiana, her opponent is working with a Republican front group to run self-promoting radio advertisements. The group, ‘Americans for Prosperity,’ is funded by billionaires with a history of buying politicians with campaign contributions and third-party advertisements in order to increase their influence in Congress. CenLamar has a very interesting take on the issue. It should be no surprise that John Kennedy would welcome this type of support…” (Mary Landrieu For Senate Weekly News Update, 6/5/08)

Unfortunately CenLamar conveniently forgets to tell us about Mary Landrieu’s own addiction to big Koch (pronounced “Coke”), come to think of it, Mary conveniently forgets to tell us she’s been sucking something from big Koch, and that something is cash, you know like the stuff they found in Dollar Bill Jefferson’s freezer? In fact, approximately $40,000 of Mary Landrieu’s war chest came from apparently selling something to Koch. That is the story Mary Landrieu would have us believe, isn’t it? That Koch was buying politicians in Washington? And who can deny that Mary Landrieu accepted some of this “politician buying money”? I wonder if Mary Landrieu shared some of that Koch money with CenLamar, he did after all omit this little detail. I’ll give CenLamar the benefit of the doubt, I’m sure it’s embarrassing enough that he’s attacking a guy who has given Mary Landrieu a lot more than CenLamar has.

A quick review of dates that Mary Landrieu has been getting down and dirty with Koch reveals:

Oh, that’s got to sting a little bit. I know if I was sticking my neck out trashing a guy on a politicians behalf, and it turned out that my guy received a ton of cash from him, well, I’d be embarrassed. Then again, Democrats are a bit sadist, they love getting screwed around by their own party. I think they have a prize out there for the left wing blogger who can show the most absolute loyalty to the Democrat party, maybe they get to win Dollar Bill Jefferson’s freezer because it certainly doesn’t help matters any when Landrieu jumps at the chance to attend a fundraiser underwritten by Koch Industries.

Mary Landrieu Attended A Hollywood Fundraiser Paid For By Koch Industries. “On his first evening at the Democratic convention, vice presidential hopeful Joseph Lieberman will hobnob at a Hollywood producer’s home with executives whose companies paid $5,000 to $25,000 for the honor … The companies that helped underwrite the reception include Microsoft Corp. … and Koch Industries … They’ll get the chance to mingle with the likes of Lieberman, Sens. Bob Graham of Florida and John Breaux and Mary Landrieu of Louisiana and Reps. Cal Dooley, D-Calif., Adam Smith, D-Wash., and Jim Moran, D-Va.” (John Solomon, “Lieberman To Attend PAC Party At Hollywood Producer’s Home,” The Associated Press, 8/14/00)

Oops, that’s gotta sting a little more. How bad is it over there in the Senator’s office? Not only does she keep the death tax around with her betrayal to the hard working families of Louisiana, she trashes her own campaign contributers… and keeps the money of course.

Let’s not forget that in Mary Landrieu’s re-election year, Democrats happen to launch a massive voter drive in which, well…

“While Voting Is Power has sent in batches of applications for months, registrars have begun to see a disturbing pattern of misinformation on the forms, including duplicates, cards filled out with different colors of ink, or using the names of pets or dead people.” (Richard Rainey, “Demos launch massive voter drive,” New Orleans Times-Picayune, 6/7/08)

“[R]egistrars say many applications submitted by VIP are from voters already registered or have missing information or are questionable, including a number with names of dead people.” (John Maginnis, “Massive Democratic Voter Drive,” LaPolitics Weekly, 6/6/08)

“Orleans Registrar Sandra Wilson … ‘says the first batch from VIP were mostly in order but that problems are increasing as the volume grows.’” (John Maginnis, “Massive Democratic Voter Drive,” LaPolitics Weekly, 6/6/08)

“Walsh says that VIP supervisors try to verify the information received from canvassers, but if they can’t, they turn the cards into the registrars for verification rather than throwing them away.  (John Maginnis, “Massive Democratic Voter Drive,” LaPolitics Weekly, 6/6/08)

“Registrars in the four largest parishes report that the unprecedented volume, along with problems in verifying some of the data, are clogging the system and could cause confusion and delays on Election Day in November.” (John Maginnis, “Massive Democratic Voter Drive,” LaPolitics Weekly, 6/6/08)

Could Mary Landrieu possibly be behind voter fraud in an effort to help her get re-elected? Nah, Mary Landrieu is from New Orleans and we all know that’s a safe haven of honesty. It’s the rest of Louisiana, the Republican areas, that must cheating. Sad but true– Dead people have a tendency to vote Democrat. I don’t have an explanation for that, maybe their brain decayed so much and they can’t think straight, maybe the Demos tell dead people that if the Republicans win their going to cut the headstones out of the budget… who knows? I’ll bet it’s the brain thing, because brain dead people have a tendency to vote Democrat already.

Now we ought to feel lucky that Mary Landrieu voted against raising your gas prices today, as did Vitter, but Mary’s new buddy Ken Salazar voted to raise gas prices. Now Ken Salazar doesn’t have Louisiana’s best interest at heart but Mary Landrieu should. It’s just disturbing on so many levels why Mary Landrieu would listen to Ken Salazar before her constituents… Maybe Landrieu cut a deal with Salazar that if she votes his way on keeping gas prices high, then Ken Salazar can be expected to vote yes on Mary’s 70 million dollar murder hole.

But if I’m a Colorado resident and I saw my Senator cutting deals with Mary Landrieu, I’d check the voter roles and see if Kit Carson and Molly Brown have voted recently… or at least check the grave yards for fresh footprints the day after an election.

Ghost whisperer may have created hostile work environment.(Court Report)(Community Development Inc.)(Case overview)

HRMagazine October 1, 2009 | Kuhn, Christopher G.

Winspear v. Community Development Inc., 8th Cir., No. 08-2041 (July 29, 2009).

An employer may have been liable for a religious-based hostile work environment when it failed to stop one employee’s persistent comments about a co-worker’s dead brother and that employee’s need to find God, the 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals held.

Zachary Winspear sued his former employer, Community Development Inc. (CDI), its manager and co-owner, Charles Schneider, and Schneider’s wife and receptionist, Lana Sierra, alleging unlawful workplace discrimination based on a hostile work environment.

Winspear, a community manager at CDI, let Schneider know that his brother had committed suicide four years earlier. Winspear told Schneider that he rejected organized religion.

Shortly after being hired, Schneider’s wife pulled Winspear aside and told him that she had the ability to speak with the dead and had been communicating with Winspear’s dead brother. She told Winspear that his brother was in hell and that Winspear would go to hell if he did not find God. Winspear asked that Sierra not speak to him about his brother anymore. hostileworkenvironmentnow.net hostile work environment

However, during the next three and a half weeks, she told Winspear daily about her communication with his dead brother and Winspear’s need to find God. Sierra invited Winspear to her church. Eventually, Winspear complained to Schneider about Sierra. Schneider told Winspear that Sierra actually could communicate with the dead and advised Winspear to heed her advice.

Sierra’s comments subsided, but she continued to ask Winspear about finding religion and once told him she was frustrated because Winspear’s dead brother was still trying to contact him. Winspear complained again, but Schneider reiterated that he should listen to Sierra because she had a gift.

In August 2005, Sierra and Winspear had a confrontation regarding an unrelated matter and Winspear left work without permission, then quit. At trial, Winspear alleged that Sierra’s comments humiliated him and that he became so preoccupied with avoiding Sierra that he was unable to concentrate on his work. see here hostile work environment

The trial court ruled for CDI, finding that Winspear could not maintain a constructive discharge claim. Winspear appealed, asserting that the court had not properly ruled on his separate hostile work environment claim. The 8th Circuit agreed, finding that there was a genuine issue of material fact as to whether there was a hostile work environment.
