Stupidity is an affordable luxury, but it won’t always be.

I’ve heard similar sayings in the past, “If you think education is expensive, try ignorance” but this was just seemed to be more on target. In dealing with people throughout various times of my life, I have found that we have actually spoiled people stupid. We have educated people to literally act stupid in order to get a check. I mean, I have met people who are clearly smart people, but when asked what they do, suddenly they can’t stop stuttering and the term “Slow-Learner” would predictably be the reason for their disability. I’m not arguing for or against it here, but it seems to me that we’ve developed a system that holds people’s intelligence hostage for a check. Be stupid, or lose the check. It’s not limited to any area of our lives, we’ve got kids who think it’s cool to be stupid, employees who hide behind stupidity in order to avoid being fired.

I’m not exactly sure if there’s a quick cure to the stupidity that runs rampant across the nation now. Let’s face it, stupidity has been growing for a long time. Think about this, how many people are likely to be offended because I am talking about stupidity? How many people think I’m being cruel or uncompassionate because I’m talking about stupid people? We have reached a point where you can see a stupid person, and the only response we can give is one that somehow, someway, rewards his behaviour.
Think about this, somebody can literally steal a quote from a television show aimed at 5 years olds, use it, and win an election with it… for the President of the United States. Case in point:

Bob the Builder
Can we fix it
Bob the Builder
Yes, we can

Bob the Builder
Can we fix it
Bob the Builder
Yes, we can

And what’s really sad is that some in his audience looked as mesmerized as they said “Yes We Can” as five year olds saying the same thing watching Bob The Builder. Equally bad is that he could have stolen the slogan from the Latin’s Little Hitler, Hugo Chavez (Si Se Puede), and most people here would never have known otherwise. Uh Oh, I’m sure I’ll draw the ire of the Left, I’m bad mouthing both stupid people and Hugo Chavez. Should I go for the Hat-Trick? Why not.

I recently saw on a Louisiana Leftist’s blog, which I’m not going link to in order to save him some embarrassment, in which he said “page 78 you’ll learn that the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act ends discrimination based on pre-existing conditions.” Now, let’s just think about this for five minutes… okay, you done? I know… wait a minute. It just hit me. Boy, I’m sure glad congress knows what it’s doing. Why, with this bill no health insurance can deny me coverage on any pre-existing condition? Well Goody Goody gum drops, I’m sure glad they are doing the thinking. I will no longer have to maintain my health insurance. I can save myself the money, pay the doctor $75 bucks twice a year for a check up, and if he finds something more serious then I can shop around for health insurance and buy it then. Why should I have to pay for health insurance before I get sick? Car accident? Don’t worry about it, just have an insurance agent there at the hospital to sell me some insurance as I’m being checked into the hospital. Hey, I am being fair to the insurance company, I’m telling them what my pre-existing condition is, it’s not like they will be able to discriminate against me and my pre-existing condition, thanks to leftist. Goody Goody gum drops, I hope they do the same for car insurance next… oh, life insurance too, why should we pay for that while we are alive?

Now, I know what some of you are thinking… “but that will bankrupt the health insurance company” and the answer is clearly no, it won’t. We need those health insurance companies making as much money as possible because after all, it’s the rich who are going to pay for this health care any way. What good would bankrupting the health care industry do?

Oh wait, you have thought it through now haven’t you? Doesn’t sound so good. Well, if it’s any consolation, at least President Obama is smarter than most of the Leftist blogosphere… of course that probably doesn’t make you feel much better, I know I don’t. Reading the rest of his post left me feeling that this certain blogger had no clue what a health insurance policy was, what it looked like, what it did. He’s got quite a bit to learn before he fixes the world for the rest of us. Stupidity is invading our politics, what’s worse, stupid people are fixing everything and they don’t even know the difference between a hammer and a pitch fork.

It’s a horrific site watching Democrats at work, it’s like watching school children raiding the tool boxes at a construction site. One can only hope they end up hurting each other before they destroy everything that has been built. Here is some hope, maybe enough stupid people realize it’s not such a good idea to fix everything before you even know what the problem is, hopefully, enough people will wisen up. Here’s to hoping stupid people will change.
