The Hypocrisy of the Left

July 11, 2007

I often stated that the Left in this country has become more of a religious cult than a political party and Vitter’s story helps justify my argument. Though we have some on the Right who will stand firm by Senator Vitters past transgessions, there are still many of us conservatives that won’t. I’m one of those conservatives.
[ad#Google Adsense]
Vitter’s story is actually a little more unacceptable than say Rep Bob Livingston and President Clinton’s sexsational story. The difference is, Senator Vitter had those examples just prior to his affairs and could have learned from them not to do it. What’s worse, he weighed in at the time and suggested that adultery is reason enough to cause a resignation. An even bigger difference is that niether Livingston nor Clinton actually violated the law by paying for a prostitute.

One cannot imagine how disappointed and embarrassed that I am that Senator Vitter did what he did, especially with such a short period of time after the Blewinsky story

Having said that, it seems Liberals are being very liberal with the word “Hypocrite” because of Vitter’s pro-family stance. I find it interesting that they also believe that they are some how excluded from the term.

But while my position remains the same as it did during the Clinton impeachment, I find it quite interesting and quite hypocritical of the Left to march around singing songs of ‘holier than thou’ while throwing stones at Vitter, completely turning their backs on the position they took during the Clinton years.

Where’s the cries from the Left that “It’s just sex”

And why should they even be concerned about it being with a prostitute when a woman should be able to do what she wants with her body anyway? Or is a “Woman’s Right to Choose” exclusively for abortions? I thought the Liberal position on this was that Government should not interfere with what goes on between two consenting adults.

After watching Liberals during the Clinton-Blewinsky scandal, the only thing they ought to be concerned about concerning Vitter is whether or not he wore a condom. The only thing the Left should be talking about is how Vitter’s action is none of our business.

Liberals ought to just shut their muths up unless they are coming to Vitter’s defence. I challenge Liberals to not be hypocrits, take the same position on Vitter’s stance as you did with Clinton.

Take the same position you did during the Clinton administration. If it was wrong then, shouldn’t it be wrong today? And is extramarital affairs only justifiable under the Democrats, yet crucifiable during a Republican affair? Don’t be a Democrat cultist, take the same stand today that you did then.

The war in Iraq has also FORCED many Iraqi girls INTO prostitution. But heeeyyyy–PROSTITUTES in Washington DC, PROSTITUTES in Louisiana, PROSTITUTES in Iraq. From Sen. Vitter's perspective, this must be a great and wonderful thing!!! But as long as YOU can fail to DEMAND Sen. Vitter's resignation, you have no claim to "family values" as a campaign tactic, nor ANY moral high ground over liberals or Democratic candidates. As long as Sen. Vitter remains in office, he has no opportunity to play the moralist or "family values" card. Hypocrits can't self-appoint themselves moral scolds for the rest of the nation. And "values" is dead as an issue for Republicans; it's useless. From here on out, just do us all a favor and TRY to live up to the "personal responsibility" you exploit for political reasons. If David Vitter had ANY personal responsibility, he'd have resigned immediately. Just make an EFFORT to live up to the "moral values" you bludgeoned into the political arena at the expense of effective public policy. Just TRY to live up to the "fiscal responsibility" Republicans worship--but failed utterly to practice when Bush got in. How very conservative. Republicans are worse than "tax and spend" Democratic Congress-folk. Repubs are tax AND spend AND put us DEPLY IN DEBT--and deeply damage our national security and economic health and domestic infrastructure to boot. Republicans are morally. unfit. to. govern.

Vitter said in 1998: "President Clinton should be impeached and removed from office because he is morally unfit to govern." NOW, he wants a very different standard when it comes to his own misdeeds. What he did was also illegal; Clinton's relationship, as much as we don't like it, was consensual and no money was exchanged. Sen. Vitter's double-standard for Republicans has badly damaged this country. It's not just the blatant hypocrisy--and yes, Republicans are hypocrites when it comes to family values--it is the double-standard. Republicans feel they are above the law. That alone makes them unfit to govern. Republicans want a double-standard when it comes to their own crimes and misdeeds. Republican abuse of power AND mis-application of the law against Democrats. Clinton's lie about personal matters and/or his consensual sex NEVER rose to the Constitutional definition of a "high crime or misdemeanor." Yet WHERE are your DEMANDS that Sen. Vitter resign for ACTUAL crimes of soliciting a prostitute? Surely his open hypocrisy in flaying Pres. Clinton and declaring Clinton "morally unfit to govern" is grounds for Repubs to demand Vitter resign!! IN fact, it is DOUBLE the reason: both the lying, the inconsistency in application of law--those are easily sufficient MORAL grounds to demand Vitter's resignation. But Vitter's crimes also put him outside the law. Further, Vitter's unfitness to sit in the Senate has grossly damaged this country. Vitter violates the law. Vitter applies the law using double-standards, in an OPENLY PARTISAN fashion, and that contradicts both American core legal principles AND violates basic American character traits of fair play, equality under the law, and respect for the Citizenry. Finally, Sen. Vitter's crimes and infidelities have COMPROMISED HIS ABILITY TO SERVE AS SENATOR. His refusal to impeach Pres. Bush for lying to the American people and entangling us in a foreign occupation of Iraq (under false pretenses) does a profound disserve to this country. It's a double-standard relative to Clinton's impeachment. The war in Iraq has also FORCED many Iraqi girls INTO prostitution. But heeeyyyy--PROSTITUTES IN

Doug Schexnayder, Ph.D May I ask you and all other republicans a question. If a republican can say breaking the law and hiring an illegal prostitute is alright. Why are they against illegal immigrants,is it because one turned down David Vitter for the night and he just got mad at all of them. Saying a Lawmaker can break the Laws he helps write, then claiming to be against illegal immigration because it is Illegal sounds like Big Lie Now. Are we moving back to the days of the white man can break Laws but not the Black man. Did I hear one republican saying Dollar Bill was Innocence,no you tried to convict the Black man for breaking the Law before he goes to court.Even when you cried about bill Clinton, that was all bull mess because you never cared about the Law to start with and this proves it. Yes Suh Masser, we Gays,Blacks.and Mexicans and Asians, know our place here in Louisiana because the mighty white man is above the Law.But do you know the gays blacks and Mexicans and Asians are out numbering the rich powerful White Man who betrays the very family Values, you know the one`s David Vitter said he stands for. Now I am wondering how many of the churches will turn people away from God because the rich white man is always forgiven no matter what party he belongs to, so much for Christian values. Then maybe they will say God hate prostitutes so that is why they go to jail, and God hates the poor man that hires them and that's why they go to jail,But God never meant for the rich republican who points his finger at the bad people to be in trouble for hiring a protitue. It is OK with God for the Rich to use prostitute Btw the white men who Bobby is to Dark, are not helping your party out either. Just showing you the many ways this will play out.No man should be above the Law.But just like in Washington, when the republican get power they screw themselves out of it in less than one election. Now me, I find it funny you want to become the democrat party after years of saying how bad we are.

I can see how saying others should resign for having an affair on their wife's,would make it alright for Vitter to break the law by hiring a prostitute. Is it fair that he uses women then let`s them go to jail for supplying what he wanted.Hey if you want this type of man protecting your daughters that is fine, but do not cry the democrats are so bad, because you are becoming democrats by supporting vitter in this.So welcome my new friends.

FLYNT: ULTIMATE SCUMSUCKING PORN-KING DEMOCRAT In addition to the phone records of “D.C. Madam” Deborah Jeane Palfrey, accused of prostitution and racketeering by federal authorities, Flynt is mining responses to an ad he placed last month in The Washington Post. The ad promised a million-dollar reward for anyone providing evidence of illicit encounters with members of Congress. The 20-plus new leads, Flynt said, come from the newspaper ad and not Palfrey. The Hustler publisher, arrested and jailed multiple times during his decades-long career, vowed to provide clear proof and only out lawmakers whom he perceives to be hypocrites. “You guys always know, [from] the past, I deliver,” Flynt said. “And if I fail to, the mainstream media will crush me like a bug.” CRAWFISH NOTE: The ultimate smut king sluggo democrat is now the “conscience of the nation” as far as congress-national politicians… does that make any sense? He is not an “equal opportunity outer”. Only family men (aka Repubs)… are targets… demolibs are secular socialists so character does not count (re: Klintons). Now when will Repubs start outing all the liberals who are hypocrites in the areas of ecology or business? You know, like the book “Do As I Say, Not As I Do”. Anybody remember demolibs Reynolds, Frank, Studds and how they were excused-forgiven imediately? Serial adultery is a common expected macho game with demolibs. Want some names? Its boring because morals are not a factor when you are a secular socialist (modern democrat) in Congress or a self-appointed race spokesman demolib. Repubs at least TRY to raise-maintain some morality in the culture so they are targets. So Repubs (aka the unforgiven) must be perfect every day of their lives while demolibs are expected to be paganistic (non-hypocritical) hedonists without boundaries. Does Gore have to use public planes to not be an eco-hypocrite? Does Moore have to sell all his big business stock not to be a hypocrite? Must those pushing gambling have to gamble to not be hypocrites? Because demolibs are morally dumbing down the culture… they get a media pass. You lost me. Who said you had to be a perfect saint to push for higher moral standards? Painful confessions and apologies… they only count for the demolibs. The “sensitive-caring” demolibs who NEVER forgive a Republican or clergyman. Never. The logical conclusion is the libmedia and liberal politicians can ONLY play the personal morality game that way. Democrats would lose every time if they didn’t… because they have the lowest personal moral bar (and proud of it). Now I understand. Posted on July 12th, 2007 by Doug Schexnayder, Ph.D. Filed under: HYPOCRITICAL | Edit 4 Responses to “FLYNT: ULTIMATE SCUMSUCKING PORN-KING DEMOCRAT” 1. huckupchuck, on July 12th, 2007 at 9:53 am Said: Edit Comment Dr. Schexnayder - A couple of points. I think hypocritical liberals should be exposed and denounced. But your rant aside, do you think that Vitter deserves a pass because that cad Larry Flynt’s got his pathetic agenda to pursue? Let me inform you that Conservative Christian Republicans do not have a corner on the market of virtue. There are good, solid, family-values Christian liberals too. I like to think I am one of them. And you want to know what rankles me about your attitude? It is the presumption that being a “demolib” means, de facto, endorsing serial adultery and all kinds of other immoral behavior. That’s where at least my resentment of Vitter is rooted, not to mention that he’s just added to the pile of refuse heaped on our state by our corrupt and immoral politicians. What good is pushing moral values if you don’t live by them yourself? Vitter is worthy of our forgiveness and our empathy. So, too, is Clinton. But I don’t see much of that forgiving nature you demand out of “demolibs” for Vitter coming through in your attitude towards “demolib” sinners. But let’s get one thing clear: being forgiving doesn’t mean not recognizing the existence of hypocrisy. Nor does it require keeping in office an adulterer who cheats on his wife and family and who violates his holy marriage vows with a prostitute. In the end, with Vitter, that’s what we have. If you think Vitter is worthy of keeping in the halls of Washington as a representative of our State because he’s asked for forgiveness, that’s fine. I don’t. And it’s not because I’m a “demolib.” It’s simply because I don’t want someone who commits adultery with a prostitute representing me. 2. Doug Schexnayder, Ph.D., on July 12th, 2007 at 8:08 pm I am in no way giving Vitter a pass…. I am crushed by this dumb personality flaw… he has his earthly hell now and till death (because he has a conscience, unlike Kennedy-Kerry, Frank etc who just get angered/hide/deny when caught… thus, no forgiveness for arrogant demolibs)… all I am saying is that national demolibs (secular socialists) never resign on morality… regardless of anything (re: Jefferson for a recent example) Repubs should run someone against Vitter at the most … true Christians forgive, but nobody can forget… liberals lowered the bar to the ground for the Klintons (did you vote for HornDog? A KNOWN serial adulterer, liar and woman abuser… well, did you? Why? If so, you are the King of Hypocrites and should stay quiet now!….you forgave ALL THIS ALSO >>>You can sell pardons (he did 456), take $$ from Red China, have sex with interns, trash the White House when you leave, lie about a tax cut, tax Social Security, do nothing in foreign policy, ignore for years a court order for the Rose Law firm billing records, say “I don’t recall” 98 times under oath, fire without cause the travel office staff, fire all 93 U.S. Attorneys, break all overseas travel (aka vacations with friends on your taxes) spending records, rent overnite stays in the White House, make incredible $$$ on Cattle Futures, not know who hired Craig Livingstone, apologize to any country for the evil USA, kill dozens by burning out a wacko religious community, audit a couple for yelling at them, put the lead counsel for the ACLU on the Supreme Court, put hundreds of very leftist federal judges in for life and send a young boy to Castro.)… so here we are… Repubs (the unforgiven) must be morally perfect and demolibs just must be their free secular themselves. Let’s see the reaction when demolibs are revealed…oh, I forgot, the Porn King is a democrat who refuses to “out” demolibs. Should democrats set standards for republicans? I think not… unless it goes both ways… which it never ever has. The democrats REFUSE to adopt the Repub rule of Congress whereby you MUST resign if indicted for lawbreaking… because they are democrats, the party of lower values across the board. Imagine your best political friend being a Porn King… must be a democrat. Where is the demolib (and yours) cry for the Porn King to get lost? UPDATE: Representative Mert Smiley of Port Vincent says, “People thinking Edwin Edwards, Huey Long, things like that. It’s going to take a lot of years before we change that perception.” Representative Smiley does NOT think Vitter should step-down. Smiley says Vitter has made peace with God and his family. Now, he has to deal with his past. Smiley says, “David had a reputation of being outspoken when it comes to family and moral issues and whenever you are outspoken like that, you should walk the walk.” Inside sources tell 9NEWS Vitter also had a reputation in the Louisiana Legislature. He was conservative and religious, but it was his pursuit of other legislators that made him some enemies along the way. Remember, he was a key leader in implementing term limits for legislators and in unveiling potential mis-uses of the Tulane Scholarship Fund. Many say it’s no surprise that his past is now coming back to haunt him. 3. huckupchuck, on July 12th, 2007 at 11:12 pm Said: Edit Comment Dr. Schexnayder - I’ll try to respond and answer your questions to the best of my ability. First, I did vote for Clinton in the past two elections. Does that make me any more hypocritical than you who, I assume, voted for Vitter amid allegations of having a past history of adultery and patronizing prostitutes. Do you not remember why Vitter opted out of the race for Governor awhile back? These allegations are not new, they have just now been verified and confirmed with evidence. So, I voted for Bill Clinton amidst similar kinds of unproven allegations, just like I voted for Bill Jefferson before the evidence of his complicity in criminal behavior surfaced. I did not vote for Jefferson in the last election and was simply astounded and ashamed that he was re-elected. Regarding Clinton, would I vote for him again now after things have been much more clarified about him. No, I wouldn’t. But I also wouldn’t presume to know the true conscience of either Vitter or Clinton or any person with regard to whether they are truly sorry or not for their behavior. You think Vitter has a conscience, unlike his immoral liberal counterparts, but how could someone with a troubled conscience about how he treated his own marraige get in front of the cameras on the Senate floor and deliver a defense of the institution of marriage as the single most important social institution in human history and identify himself as one step in the right direction towards preserving this institution in the fight to legislate a Federal Marriage Amendment? To me, Vitter appears troubled and ashamed not because of what he did, but because he finally got caught. That’s not so admirable as you make it out to be. But the point of my comment was not really about who voted for whom and whether or not you or I made mistakes regarding whom we voted for; but, rather, my point was that there are good and moral Christian liberals in this world. And that your presumption that liberalism equals immorality and sinfulness is just not correct and is patently unfair to these good and decent liberals. 4. Doug Schexnayder, Ph.D., on July 12th, 2007 at 11:22 pm I stand by every word… the national demolibs are very very low morally… witness HRC and HornDog wanting to run the country again! Enough already. YOU will vote for them I am sure. This proves morals really do not matter to you. So you are an exception to the faithless demolib, so what? The dominant is the dominant. That changes nothing. The exception is the exception. I vote for the “least evil” and I know which Party is dominated by secular socialists. Neither Party makes me dance for joy but the Democrat Party (Klintons, Frank, Jefferson should all be home by now) is morally inferior by any measure. The Republicans just are the morally superior (not perfect by any means) Party… they generally want smaller govt, lower taxes and family values… the Democrats do not and their voting record is there for all to see. It is not a matter of opinion! Did I mention the homo-debate of demolib candidates this week? I rest my case.

Being a Democrat gives you the divine right to take whatever position you want on any issue at any time without having to (validly) justify it.

I agree with Avman and i hope people will start voting for what is best for louisiana, and not just voting for their party.

Avman I am proud to see you standing up for what you believe in and I hope more people follow your lead.Vitters very own words of saying how bad others were while he was doing the same thing is what bothers me the most. Just last week Vitter Pushed for Reauthorization of Abstinence Education Program,It expired last Saturday so I guess some people may have known it was just not working. Louisiana sunk a little lower this past week in the eyes of the people of our nation ,who we need to help us.No matter the party if they can not put Louisiana first they need to go. Blanco is going and Mary Landrieu and David Vitter need to go next.We need real Leaders who will put Louisiana first, and make our state something to be proud of again.Vote Bobby Jindal

Thank you Avman for standing up for what you believe in.I also if agree if it is wrong it is wrong for everyone.I do find it ironic that Larry Flynt started vitter career by reporting on Bob Livingston and now the same Larry Flynt is reporting on Vitter.
