On the heels of the Democratic National Convention, and what we as Americans viewed as a blatant disregard to traditional values ingrained into the majority of American citizens, more of the fence sitting Independents and long time Democrats are turning away from the National platform of the Democratic Party. As each day now passes with news of attacks on American Embassy’s and deaths of American citizens while our President does interviews with DJ’s such as “Pimp with a Limp” and Letterman spots, it’s plain to see the pandering and the door to door vacuum cleaner sales our President is peddling. If he sucked any worst he would put Kirby and Dyson out of business(don’t think he hasn’t thought of that either). But, and there is always a but, You keep doing what you are doing Mr. President and America will reward you on November 6th. You keep driving away those long time Democrats, we will gladly take them and show them the errors of their ways,
Just last week, one day after Former President Bill Clinton’s speech at the DNC, we saw a local, life long democratic politician cast aside the “D” for an “R”. Earlier this week a news release from the Louisiana Republican Party confirmed what this Person had told me at a previous Police Jury Meeting.
On Thursday, Sept. 6, 2012, Hal McMillin, 4-term Calcasieu Parish Police Juror and former City Councilman, swapped the “D” that had been behind his name since he was eighteen for an “R,” as he switched to the Republican Party. While many politicians have made party switching a political maneuver to garner votes, Hal McMillin says it was the realization that “the Democratic Party of today does not represent the moral or political values that I hold true. After listening to President Clinton’s misquotes, empty rhetoric, and seeing the actions that had taken place on the floor where people were booing God and Jerusalem, I’d had enough,” said McMillin. The very next day, he and two friends went to their local registrar of voters office near Lake Charles, LA and all three joined the Republican Party.
As a citizen of Calcasieu Parish myself, it’s great to see a local politician come out against what the Democratic Party has become and the destructive nature and agenda behind it. My next query is for our local and state wide Church leaders and elders. You stand up every Sunday morning preaching from and waving the Good Book. Do you still stand with and support a party that had to vote three times to put God and Jerusalem back into their National Platform? Three times the nays audibly carried the day yet the Chair called it two-thirds in favor of. Pastors, Preachers, Priests and Ministers of God’s flock, What say ye when that day comes? Yes Lord, I stood for you, or Lord I am sorry, I did not heed my true calling to protect my flock. So many look to their church leaders for answers and guidance. Are you being truthful with your members?
