Following three nights of watching the Democratic National Convention I came away with one ultimate conclusion concerning the Democratic Party. For a party that preaches tolerance on nearly every issue one could think of, they are in fact the party of intolerance if one does not agree with them or their platform. We are expected to buy into their policies and ideals yet if we do not we are evil racists, bigots and down right UN-American. This NEW DEMOCRATIC PARTY is no longer a party with any amount of Christian values. The Republican Party, the party that was birthed to fight slavery and discrimination is were we have to start in turning away this evil and begin to usher in common sense. This is going to be a generational fix, it’s not going to happen with one election cycle.
A Party that goes from a platform of God to taking God out then voting to put God back in. After three votes ( and the cock crowed thrice ) the Nays definitely carried yet the Chair, following the script on his teleprompter, called it a two-thirds vote in favor of placing God back into their platform. You can watch the vote here, you saw the votes, you saw the Nays over the Ayes and most importantly you saw the disapproval and boo’s towards God. This is the same party that criticizes and sues individual states over voter ID fraud when that same fraud was on display on the convention floor for the nation to witness. It’s a scary thought knowing who will be counting votes come November 6th.
This convention brought to mind the old legend of the Pied Piper. In 2007 Barack Obama was ushered into the lives of millions of Americans willing to accept whatever their party told them. We were told he was the answer to what ailed America and many independents cast their vote for Hope and Change never being told what that Hope or Change would be or do to America. Fast-forward to 2012 and the same old wore out speeches are still stupefying the children of Hamelin and they are blindly following the Piper to the edge of the river. We have seen such blind idiocy in such mass numbers in the past and it never ended well. The faces of those, mesmerized by sound of the pipe, never saw where the Piper was leading them. What we are witnessing can best be described as the Stockholm Syndrome.
Wikipedia describes the “Stockholm syndrome, or capture-bonding, as a psychological phenomenon in which hostages (Democrats) express empathy (unconditional love and trust) and have positive feelings towards their captors, sometimes to the point of defending them. These feelings are generally considered irrational in light of the danger or risk endured by the victims, who essentially mistake a lack of abuse from their captors for an act of kindness. The FBI’s Hostage Barricade Database System shows that roughly 27% of victims show evidence of Stockholm Syndrome.”
How do we break this syndrome and help heal those affected by delusional thoughts of grandeur and devotion to a disease that has overtaken them to the point of no return? One voice at a time, one person at a time if need be. The cure will be painstaking and time consuming but it’s necessary none the less to recover from such an evil disease. One can only hope and pray we are not too late.
