Much has been made by people over our endorsement of Slate #3 in Saturday’s Louisiana Caucus as to who the Slate is voting for. Now that Rick Santorum, Rick Perry, and possibly Newt Gingrich have dropped out, our officially endorsed slate isn’t about who we are voting for, but rather what we are voting for. While other slates ask you to vote for a specific candidate, Slate 3 is issue orientated, and while other slates may have been bought and paid for, as reported by The Dead Pelican, the Louisiana Conservative Delegation is not, and would not have received our endorsement if this were the case.
One of our sister organizations have reported that Ron Paul supporters plan to “Steal the Convention” and was also reported in the Las Vegas Sun. Can it possibly be that Ron Paul’s plan is to send just enough delegates to cause problems at the National Convention? Ron Paul, with absolutely no chance of winning the nomination outright, could be trying to force a brokered convention by sending delegates who will vote against the will of their state GOP voters?
It is not our intention to send a delegation to the Republican Convention that will create conflict, as those listed for this delegation for slate #3 have supported various candidates for various reasons. However, they do uphold these Republican values consistently. That among these values are Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. I mentioned that we are not about a candidate, but rather our Slate is issue orientated. When you vote for delegates to the State Convention, you will be voting to send people who will help shape the Republican Party Platform for the next four years.
We can not become the party that says no to war, no to Israel, no to anybody but Ron Paul. We can not become the party of “No”. We must be the party that says “Yes” to Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.
We are the party that is Pro-Life, that is Pro-Second Amendment, and Pro-Business. We are the party that is for “Less Taxes and Less Government.” We are the party that is for Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness. We are the party that recognizes that Rights come from God. We must continue to be the party that promotes a strong defense and freedom, not the party that is against something.
We are the party that understands that the Right to Bear Arms isn’t about hunting animals, it’s about keeping out dictators. We are the party that understands that we ought to respect the life of the innocent. We are the party that understands that jobs are created by businesses, not government.
We are the party that understands that raising taxes leads to lower tax revenue, that taking money out of the pockets of consumers means they have less to spend on goods. The less they have to spend on goods, the less that needs to be produced. The less that needs to be produced, the less work there is. The less work there is, the less demand for employees. The less demand for employees, the less people you have paying taxes.
We are the party that understands that the more government provides for you, the more they have the power to starve you. The more they have the power to starve you, the more they have the power to control you. The more they have the power to control you, the less freedom you have. Why would we want to give the government more power?
We are the party that understands that we our “Endowed by our Creator with certain inalienable Rights”. Rights can not come from the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, Government, or the will of the people. If this were so, than changing any of those would fundamentally change Rights, and those Rights would be privileges, subjected only to the will of that entity. Government can not give or grant Rights, Government can only infringe, or stop infringing on Rights. The Constitution and Bill of Rights only are safeguards to protecting Rights.
We are the Party of Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness. We are Conservative Republicans and proud to be! We ask you to join us at Louisiana Conservative Dot Com this Saturday and vote for the Louisiana Conservative Delegation, and let’s continue to be the party that is for freedom.
