The rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer, as evidenced by our Senate. The above picture was sent to me by the tremendous folks over at Louisiana Action Council, who have been working diligently against SB 672 and this very nice Mercedes Benz is owned by none other than SB 672’s sponsor, Ann Duplessis (D-New Orleans)
I know Senator Duplessis is working hard for the poor (legislatures), and I agree that they deserve some sort of raise at some point, but to take a phrase from Barack Obama, “HOW OUT OF TOUCH CAN YOU BE???”
How dare these Senators give their selves a pay raise at a time when when the average working Joe, I’m talking about the middle class stiff, who has to cut back on his driving and perhaps is thinking of planting tomatoes and corn in his backyard so his family can have something to eat.
We are living in a time where employers are feeling the pinch of declining sales and rising prices and are unable to give their employees a pay raise. We are in a time when congress wants to answer the people’s suffering of high gas prices with additional price increases by taxing gas more. We are in tough times, but who does Senator Ann Duplessis and her colleagues look out for? Their selves. How out of touch can one be to do this when high gas prices are crippling family budgets? When people have to look for new jobs closer to their homes? I know that $26,000 a year for a part time job (three months out of the year) makes life very difficult, but believe it our not, most Louisiana citizens don’t even make $26,000 in six months. Ann Duplessis wants to end poverty (at least her own) by tripling her salary by sticking her finger into a button.
I don’t know what Senator Duplessis looks like other than a liberal by her voting record, but if she keeps eating at the trough like this, she may just become the poster child for obesity.
Here is a list of Senators who can’t keep their greedy hands off of public money, YOUR MONEY! If your Senator is not on the list, then your Senator did note vote for the bill. We will have the list of Representatives who need to be evicted from the House after their vote tomorrow.

If they vote themselves a pay raise, are they going to vote for $2 a gallon gas for me? This is the most ridiculous bill I have seen come out of that den of inequity in a long time. If this passes, we need to seriously consider recalling the entire legislature. It is very obvious that they don’t care about the people they were elected to serve.
If Jindal lets Tucker best him on this issue he’ll become as effective as Blanco after the cretin don hines called her bluff and won. Jindal owes it to the citizens to man up and stop this disgraceful garbage.
